Chlorine Dosing Systems

Chlorine dosing systems are one of the most commonly preferred methods for removing contaminants and ensuring disinfection in water treatment. These systems provide a cost-effective and long-lasting solution. They are used to oxidize oxidizable substances in water, such as nitrite, iron, and manganese, and to eliminate microorganisms like bacteria and viruses. Chlorine dosing systems are classified into different types based on their control mechanisms:
Diğer Sistemler
On/Off Controlled Dosing Systems
The chemical dosage is manually controlled by adjusting the stroke value on the pump. This system, suitable for dosing chlorine and other types of fluids, offers a simple and easy-to-use solution.
ORP Controlled Dosing Systems
ORP-controlled systems measure the residual chlorine level in water in millivolts (mV) and automatically adjust the chemical dosage based on the predefined value. This system is ideal for applications requiring precise control.
Flow-Controlled Dosing Systems
Flow-controlled dosing systems adjust the chemical dosage according to the volume of water flowing. The system operates with a meter connected to the dosing pump. The meter measures the amount of fluid passing through and triggers the pump accordingly to ensure the correct amount of chemical is dosed.
Ultraviolet (UV) Disinfection Systems
Ultraviolet devices use UV light emitted by the UV lamp to destroy the DNA and RNA structures of microorganisms such as bacteria, viruses, and fungi, rendering them inactive. This process, known as microbiological purification, ensures the safe use of water.
UV disinfection systems consist of four main components:
-
Stainless Steel Body: A durable structure where water is exposed to UV light.
-
UV Lamp Sleeve: A transparent protective cover that enhances the lamp’s efficiency.
-
UV Lamp: The main component that emits ultraviolet rays at a wavelength of 254 nm.
-
Control Panel: An electronic unit that monitors and controls the system’s operation.

UV Disinfection Process:
Water enters the stainless steel body and is exposed to UV rays. Microorganisms are inactivated by 99.999%, and the sterilized water exits the system.
Since this method does not require heat or chemical additives, it does not alter the taste or composition of the water. However, for the system to be effective, the following factors must be considered:
-
Pre-filtration to remove any suspended particles.
-
UV disinfection should be performed before final usage and after storage.
-
Selecting a UV device with the appropriate capacity for the water flow rate.
